2015 New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI), New Mexico Mud Invasion, Mud and Obstacle race. May 1-3, 2015 New Mexico Mud Invasion Weekend. Charity event to benefit the New Mexico Military Institute Scholarship Fund.
This was an event of laughter, mud & music that included a comedy show, mud race and concert. Ms. Gomez was the overall Event Coordinator of the mud and obstacle race and collaborated with NMMI staff and Marketing Director on comedy and concert shows. Ms. Gomez was responsible for all aspects of the race including updating logo name/design, advertisement, oversight of graphic design for posters, post cards and banners. Ms. Gomez was the point of contact and collaborated with NMMI grounds staff on the design, construction and overall set up of the race course.
2015 FUN WALK, National Senior Health & Fitness Day, sponsored by New Mexico Senior Olympics, May 27, 2015. Ms. Gomez coordinated all aspects of the walk including; walk route and set up, radio advertisement, flyer design and distribution. Filled out and submitted all required permits through the City of Roswell and Roswell Police Department.
2014 Mexico Senior Olympics Volunteer Reception, July 15, 2014. Ms. Gomez was responsible for set up and take down for 200 attendees at the Volunteer reception including venue, buffet, liquor area, stage, entertainment, decorations and sign in table.
2014 New Mexico Senior Olympics, Sports Health Fair, June 14, 2014. Ms. Gomez was responsible for acquiring 30 health and fitness booths for the health fair. Coordinated booth set up, snack areas and demonstration/ entertainment schedule.
2013 – Current, Roswell Mud Sweat & Tear Mud & Obstacle Race: In September 2013 Barbara Gomez created Roswell New Mexico‘s First Mud Run with oversight on all aspects of the event including: event name, logo design, course design, course creation & Facebook. It proved to be a huge success and is now an annual Plan-It Production event!
Conference & Business Expo
Baby Boomer Conference & Business Expo: This now 5th annual event was created from conception to completion by Barbara in 2010. The event focuses on the needs of Baby Boomers, community education and is the Business Showcase event of the year. Educators ranged from doctors, lawyers, investments and mortgage professionals. The event has grown from year to year & as of 2013 hosted 100 business & not for profit vendors, and over 3,000 people in attendance.
Southern NM Medical Conference: This is an educational conference specifically created for Frontier Medical to provide continuing educational units for Physicians & Mid-level providers also as a means to bring exposure to the services offered by Frontier Medical. Barbara Gomez coordinated the production of the event from educational units, conference speakers to venue. Including the design of the logo, brochures, event booklet and orchestrated the events of the day. The event was highly attended by providers from Roswell, Clovis, Hobbs and Ruidoso and surrounding areas.
Business After-Hours Reception / logo/ brochure / business cards
Barbara organized an after-hours event for local physician clinic Roswell Family Care. All aspects of the reception were organized including: venue set up & catering, invitations & advertisement. Barbara provided oversight in the creation of the logo, brochures & business cards.
Roswell Community Health & Resource Guide: Barbara Gomez conceived & created the community & health resource guide as a quick and easy guide containing community and health resources available in the area. The guide has been used throughout the community including local hospitals, health agencies and also included in the Chamber of Commerce Visitors and Relocation packets. The guide is updated every two years with the next schedule update in March 2014.
Achievements / Recognition:
19th Annual Women’s History Month – 2012 Honoree: Barbara was a recipient and honored on March 24, 2012 during the Annual Women’s History Month celebration. Participants of the committee recognize achievements of women throughout the generations and honored for local community achievements, education and empowerment of women. Barbara Gomez was honored for Outstanding Commitment and Dedication to her Community.
Continuity of Care Committee: August 2010 became the President of this committee and has lead the committee in its restructure to provide the members with Education, Networking Opportunities and Community Education Forums. Also was the lead in making the committee a Not for Profit 501.c.3
